I had to look up an image of Pukka. I have seen her, but she is nowhere near as popular as Hello Kitty.

Yes, Hello Kitty is way more popular. But she also is since the '70 (whaen I used to attend elementary school I had Hello Kitty and My Melody and Care Bears on my notes).

I'd have to say that while Sanrio and HK stuff is super-popular here, Pucca is also quite prevalent in Hawaii.
